Because whatever I do, the mob's gonna harm someone - either me or the accused or the accused's family - and there's nothing I can do to prevent it... I confess that I'm not a hero when it comes to matters of life and death, but i'm not a complete wimp either... So, i guess I'll try and talk some sense into the crowd, scream my lungs out, or when nothing's working, I'll probably lie to them that the prisoner's dead, hoping that they'll buy the story and leave his family alone...
